Ever wonder why it’s such a common thing for people to say that something “tastes like chicken.” How come we never say chicken tastes like something else?

Simply put, it’s because we love chicken. Like,a lot. How much exactly? Well, according to the National Chicken Council, it’s estimated that the average American ate 98 pounds of chicken in 2021, with that number only expected to grow in the coming year.

In the Jones household, one of our favorite ways of cooking chicken is by glazing it. And can you guess our number one favorite ingredient to glaze itwith? If you said Grandma Jones’ Pepper Jelly, you’re right! If you said literally anything else, you’re on the wrong website.

Glazing is great because it removes the need for dipping (which our pepper jelly is also great for) and it allows for better coverage than a sauce (although, yes, pepper jelly works wonders as a sauce, too). Glazing covers the entire bird with a glossy coating that not only looks beautiful, but gives every bite a strong, mouth-watering flavor.

Without further ado, here are six of our favorite quick and easy glazed chicken recipes. All made, of course, with Grandma Jones’ delicious homemade pepper jelly.

1. Honey Jalapeno Glazed Chicken Breasts

Sweet and spicy together make for an unbeatable combination. No one knows that better than we do. This recipe lures you in with the unmistakable taste and aroma of honey, then brings the heat with a combination of paprika, chili flakes, and Grandma Jones’ Jalapeno Pepper Jelly.

Mix glaze ingredients together in a bowl, then brush onto the chicken breasts. After that, place the breasts into the oven at around 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, stopping to reglaze the chicken every 10 minutes.

2. Chipotle/Dijon Chicken Wings

Speaking of awesome flavor combinations, here’s one that’s sure to wow. Experience the smokiness of chipotle and the complex sharpness of Dijon mustard together, but don’t forget the most important ingredient: Grandma Jones’ Southwestern Chipotle Pepper Jelly!

Mix glaze ingredients together in a bowl, then brush onto the wings. Place the wings in the oven at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, stopping to reglaze the chicken every 10 minutes.

3. Thanksgiving-Style Rosemary Chicken

You don’t have to have turkey to make a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. In fact, you don’t even have to wait until Thanksgiving. This tasty Thanksgiving-style glazed chicken is a great way of feeding the whole family. It combines the savoriness of rosemary, the tang of Worcestershire, and the distinctive tart heat of Grandma Jones’ Cranberry Pepper Jelly.

Mix glaze ingredients together in a bowl, then brush onto the chicken. Place the chicken into the oven at 350 degrees for between 1-2 hours (depending on the size of the chicken). Stop to reglaze every 20-30 minutes. After the chicken is done, brush with the mixture again.

4. Caribbean Mango Chicken Wings

Just like you don’t have to wait until November for a taste of Thanksgiving, you don’t have to get on a boat for a taste of the Caribbean. As if the allspice, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cumin in traditional jerk seasoning wasn’t enough, Grandma Jones’ Mango Pepper Jelly delivers an incredible tropical flavor you won’t soon forget.

There really is no beating the classics. When you’re in the mood for some good ol’ fashioned BBQ-style chicken, simplicity is the key. All you need is a bottle of your favorite barbeque sauce and a jar of Grandma Jones’ Pepper Jelly for a tasty dish that never fails.

  • Chicken wings
  • Traditional pepper jelly
  • Barbeque sauce
