Pepper Jelly Burgers

Serves: 4 People
Total Times: 25 Minutes

A great burger doesn’t need a lot of ingredients. You only need a handful of seasonings and good ground meat. The beef you use for burgers does make a difference. The best beef for making hamburger patties is 80% lean and 20% fat ground beef. You need the fat in the meat to make juicy flavorful burgers.

Ingredients

  • 1lb ground beef
  • 3 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Pepper
  • 4 Slices of Cooper Sharp Cheese
  • 4 Brioche Buns or Pretzel Buns
  • 1 Jar of Pepper Jelly

Instructions

  1. Place your meat in a large bowl.
  2. Add Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
  3. Use your hands to mix until well combined.
  4. Divide the meat into 4 parts.
  5. Pat out 4 patties.
  6. Place an indent in the middle of the burger with your thumb.
  7. Grill on each side for 4 minutes.
  8. Turn off grill, place cheese on each patty until melted.
  9. Place patties on desired buns.
  10. Put 1 teaspoon of pepper jelly on each burger.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
Grill your burgers over high heat. Whether you are grilling them outside on a grill or inside on a skillet, the grates/skillet needs to be hot! Do not use your spatula to press down on your burgers while cooking. All the juice you release is meant to stay inside the burgers. Don’t eliminate all that flavor to hear a little sizzle from your grill. Only flip your burger one time! Remove from heat and let your burgers rest for a few minutes before serving. This will cause the juices to redistribute into the meat. There is nothing better than a juicy and flavorful burger with a side of fries. But this can get boring. There are plenty of side dishes for burgers that the whole family will love! There are so many options that you have never thought of, and here are a few of the best:
  • Homemade potato chips or sweet potato fries.
  • Salads are always a good choice, a creamy broccoli salad, a chilled cucumber salad, a pasta salad or black bean salad.
  • Baked beans.
  • Loaded potato skins,
  • Mac and cheese or
  • Grilled vegetables - asparagus, zucchini, mushrooms or jalapeños are great choices.
Now that you have the perfect burger and side dishes to choose from, the only thing left to do is try them all!

Going Global - QVC Pepper Jam Premier

In 1999 Marcia’s grandson’s – Richard Jones III (Penn Lake, PA) and Kristopher Jones (Shavertown, PA) decided to take their Grandmother’s recipe, bottle it up, and share it with the world via e-commerce. Kris’s role in the company was head of Internet marketing, while Rick was head of product development and manufacturing. The pepperjam.com website was launched in late 1999 and the company began taking orders.

In early 2000 Rick, Kris, and their sister Jennifer attended the Fancy Food Gourmet Food Show in New York City where they met QVC Celebrity Chef Jorge Bruce. During that encounter Jennifer insisted Chef Jorge try Grandma Jones’ Pepper Jam. He loved it, which eventually led to Chef Jorge writing a 150+ recipe Pepper Jam cookbook and helping the company take Grandma Jones Pepper Jam on QVC.

As Kris remembers it, “Debuting Pepper Jam on QVC was surreal. It felt like we won a Super Bowl commercial. In less than 4 minutes we not only sold thousands of jars of product, but we affirmed that there is something very special about Grandma Jones Pepper Jam.”

Grandma Jones’ Pepper Jam continues to be sold online and at select brick and mortar locations throughout the United States.

It remains our pleasure to offer you limited access to our Grandmother’s cherished recipes.
