A lot of people seem to think that sticking to a vegan diet means eating a lot of boring salads or meat substitutes. In reality, there’s no reason vegan food can’t be just bright, colorful, and bursting with flavor as any other approach to eating.

Personally, one of my favorite dishes to make for dinner is Asian-style stir fry. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s perfect for feeding the whole family. Best of all, stir fry dishes can be adapted to accommodate any diet, even a vegan one.

What’s more, with Grandma Jones’ Pepper Jelly, you can make your meal as sweet or as spicy as you like. Keep it cool ‘n’ tasty with our Traditional Pepper Jelly or turn up the heat with some fiery Habanero Pepper Jelly. Because every jar of Pepper Jelly is vegan-friendly, it’s never been easier to make your own homemade vegan stir fry sauce.

Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself and see. Below is one of my favorite spicy stir fry sauce recipes. Buy a jar of Pepper Jelly today and get cookin’!

Sweet ‘n’ Spicy Vegan Stir Fry Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Grandma Jones' Pepper Jelly
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

Instructions:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Grandma Jones' Pepper Jelly, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
  • In a separate small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water to create a slurry.
  • Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the spicy stir fry sauce mixture to the pan and bring it to a simmer.
  • Slowly pour in the cornstarch slurry while stirring continuously. This will thicken your vegan stir fry sauce.
  • Continue stirring the sauce for about 1-2 minutes until it reaches your desired consistency. It should become glossy and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Once the sauce is thickened, it's ready to be used in your stir fry! Add it to your favorite stir fry vegetables, and noodles or rice. For an extra protein boost, tofu is a great addition perfectly suited for vegan lifestyles.
  • Stir fry everything together for a few minutes until the ingredients are cooked through and coated in the flavorful sauce.
  • Serve your delicious stir fry hot and enjoy the sweet and tangy flavors of Grandma Jones' Pepper Jelly in every bite!

Spice Up Your Vegan Stir Fry Sauce with Pepper Jelly

One of my favorite things about making stir fry is that you can put anything you want in it. For example, I like to load up my stir fry with thinly sliced bell peppers, julienned carrots, broccoli florets, and lots of onions. Feel free to be creative, though. Try snap peas, water cashews, bamboo shoots, or fresh green beans.

You can also jazz up your spicy stir fry sauce by experimenting with other varieties of Pepper Jelly. From Southwestern Chipotle to Caribbean Mango, we’ve got plenty of mouth-wateringly unique flavors that are sure to please your palate. Order yourself a jar today!
